A busy start to 2025 for Garmendale has been filled with installations, ride manufacturing, and winter shutdown works. As soon as the 2024 theme park season ended, our phones were ringing of the hook. Though its cold outside, on-site and inside our workshops we’ve been very busy preparing some of the UK’s finest theme parks for re-opening this March. An example of our busy winter period is our frequent works with Alton Towers. It’s always a pleasure supporting the team at Alton Towers working on Garmendale manufactured and installed projects, as well as a ride modification for the 2025 season.

Several Garmendale Engineers made the trip over to Stoke-On-Trent where they supported the Alton Towers team in the strip down and refurbishment of the aerial round-about, Go-Jetters: Vroomster Zoom Ride. This ride system is a popular highlight of Alton’s family friendly offering, Cbeebies land. A ride we designed, manufactured, installed, and tested for Alton Towers back in 2017. It’s a pleasure to be called back and continue to care for a ride that encompasses what Garmendale stands for, reliable, lasting engineering of the highest quality.  Also, over the winter period our engineers supported the refurb and testing of Gangsta Granny: The Ride. A thorough refurbishment/winter works package ensures both ride systems are ready to entertain families and children of all ages from March 2025.

Our engineers know the roads to Alton Towers like the back of their hands at this point. We also carried out a ride modification over the winter period. Get Set Go!, one of Cbeebies Lands’ longest standing rides, which previously operated under the name ‘Squirrel Nutty Ride’. The Garmendale team assisted the Towers technical crew in the removal and refitting of the rides power rail, matching the client specified and updated ride layout.
